Jan, the regulator will still work, only it will have a limited effect on the amount of fuel. I made some progress today, …
And that was with the injection pump in the idle position so all throttle was on wood? Seems diesels like a heavy flow of gas compared to a gasoline motor. The slightest touch of air adjustment and my truck will go wildly lean or rich. It makes me wonder why Wayne’s damper style valves seem to work so well?
I still have Wayne’s original valves working in my wood gas side of the truck.
Bob
Yes, had stopped the diesel, so the engine barely worked, did not get the mixture any good, and has not changed the ignition, but now I see that it works anyway.
What tap do you have for the mix?
Jan, Marcus uses old throttle bodies for his air adjustment.
Yes I have 4 Chrysler throttle body that are 62mm opening, 2 control the woodgas the other 2 control the air. Each is set up on a independent control cable inside, just like how I am setting up the V10 control cables but this time I’ll be using a damper style valve like Wayne does
The difference between Wayne’s valves and a throttle body is the throttle body shuts all the gas flow off they do not leak unless design to on some I have found. When not electric activated they are partly crack open then close when electric activated. I have a Chevy throttle body that works this way. I have found the old single barrel carburetors work good. Take the float bowl off plug the holes. Motorcycle carburetors work.

I have the same problem. With woodgas some procedures require more thinking than actual work Congratulations to your success!
A day of testing, I installed a gas control damper, connected a trailer with a gasifier and connected the gas to a flexible hose, …

Congratulations Tone
Thanks for the video
That was great Tone. Your landscape looks so much like ours I would feel right at home.
Another farm tractor, ready to work!
Marcus, I was just testing the operation, I “borrowed” the gasifier from the cogeneration, I will make another one for the tractor, although I am tempted to temporarily install it on the tractor, but I’m afraid it will stay here, …
Very good video, Tone
That woodgas tractor vill be very useful. How much diesel, in %, do you eatimate would be required in avarage operation?
remember my temporary wiring for my pusher blowers dangling around in the bed of the truck? I have a saying for that its called “temporarily permanent”
Yes, the diesel fuel is limited to about 10-20%, if before the consumption was 3-4 l of diesel fuel per working hour according to the meter, now it should use 0.5 l, but I must say that when I was testing it, it happened that the engine was running with the diesel fuel closed, which surprised me very much. However, doing so risks destroying the diesel injectors.
Tone,
Congratulations. Enjoyed the video.
Congratulations Tone, great job on powering the diesel on charcoal gases.
Bob
It’s lucky for you that I have so far to your place, otherwise you would get me questioning things all day.
Did you change the ignition or did it go so well right away?
Do you think there was a big difference in the power of the tractor?
How do you keep up with everything ???
