A pleasant surprise this morning while driving out to feed cattle. (25 mile round trip)
Down here it is said that a seven coarse meal consist of a POSSUM AND A SIX PACK. Looks like a substitution will be in good order!!

The V-10 has some very low gears but also some high . Below is a 30 second clip showing high gear.
2100 rmp and 80 mph.
Is that Beaver? Heck Wayne and you can make a new cap too… tell your gal to get out the sewing machine!..lol
And forgoodness sake dont try it in the Gasifier…we know how you are…Smile!
Yes Neil,
A young tender one !!!
Wayne, I am doing a 460 ford… what diameter and length burn tube do you recommend?
Thanks, Russ
Hello Mr. Fuller,
I would look here in the fire tube -sizing , http://driveonwood.com/premium/firetube-sizing and build similar to my V-10 Ram 488 CID. The first picture is the dakota fire tube and the second picture is the V-10.
The construction videos are based on building the gasifier for a dakota 318 but one can scale up very easily . Here are some pictures of the v-10 , mostly components out side the gasifier. http://driveonwood.com/premium/v10-build-photos
Here is a short clip from this morning taking my son to school. No one could help noticing we were hauling hay but no one knew we were burning wood.
Hey Wayne
Looks like the cows were gonna get a drink and feed in every bite…Hey how much does one of those roll weigh?
Hey Neil,
I can roll the hay in different sizes and can go on up to about 1200 pound but I think most of mine will be 800-1000 pounds.
Neil ,
Did you ever find the culprit that got under your hood and got away with the two cylinders ??
BBB
YEP! the EPA…lol
I hauled cattle this afternoon with the Ram. It was a 36 mile round trip , no gasoline was used except to start back up after being shut down while loading cattle . I can’t remember going over half throttle , no car passed me nor was I holding up any traffic running near the speed limit 55 mph.
I believe it’s the best it has ever performed ? Used dry pine for fuel ( or as dry as it will get here in Alabama )
As you can tell from the below photo with water standing on the containers it is a wet rainy day in Alabama. Truck ran great while feeding cattle and a 20 mile trip. I will be putting about another 20 miles on it this afternoon.
SWEM even in rain, rain, rain and mud, mud, mud.
The worst part is when you go fast, all that sooty water blows all over the back of the truck!
Wayne
I need some of that rain down this way. It’s been way too dry
I got some snow you can have. Take it all!!!
The wife and I just cut a load of fire wood and set the trailer down in the barn. As soon as we use the wood on the trailer beside the porch I will switch out trailers.
I must admit we used some gasoline, about a pint for the chain saw but none for the truck.
We live close to Mother Earth, our out of pocket heating expense ( fuel cost ) for a year is near $10 also no fossil fuels are used and no tree was cut for heating. All is scrap material.
Wayne
where is your restriction located to the holes?
Is the goal to have no restriction plate between holes and grate?
Hello Loyd ,
I ‘m not sure what you are asking but the restriction plates, choke plates are on construction video # 36.
http://driveonwood.com/construction/36
In this area we force a restriction of the gasifier . Many times we talk of a restriction occurring than may not be planed ?
Wayne
I have been looking at all the videos you show putting in the brake drums and then its 11 inches from the holes is that where a expert would be after many miles driven or is that where I would start? I also noticed it was quit large opening in the center of the restricting plate again is that where I would start I think after reading I start with about 7" center and then work outward (wider) and pull downward away from the holes?
Thanks
Hello Loyd .
Yes I understand now . Lot of discussion here at this link and I have added comments
