Sometimes it is good to use only the petrol or diesel. Consider it a Cleanout Period or Washing Day.
Well, the hinge to the hopper had broken the last time I drove the Illern, but had forgotten about it.
But you’re right, it’s probably good that it can run on petrol sometimes.
Dual fuel has its advantages.
The hazel tree grows quickly and covers the edge of the forest, also spreading to the meadows. This is a very useful wood for making a handle for a shovel or a pitchfork, rakes are made from hazel, it is also excellent for weaving baskets…
The fastest and easiest will be to turn this into motor fuel, my Fergie is already watching hungrily, it will probably produce 5-6 cubic meters of wood chips.
Tone, if memory serves me well, the well known Swiss gunpowder is made out of hazel charcoal… get ready for some explosive fuel!
I didnt know about the baskets. Thod they were all out of willow
Isn’t it also the preferred wood for witch’s brooms?
I would rather deal with hazel then invasive honeysuckle.
I will ask my neighbour.
And yes Kristijan, I tought the same. Didnt know hazel was used.
I believe they use Alder Buckthorn, the trick is they mill for a long time, sometimes 24 hours of milling to achieve a very homogenous burn rate.
Yes, I’ve heard that Swiss does use Alder Buckthorn, but hazel actually works about the same. I thought they only cooked their charcoal to a certain point and did not fully cook it to reduce fouling and increase burn rate.
Yes, you don’t want to kiln it higher than a certain temperature when it comes to black powder.
How do you load those logs without a crane?
Don, I dragged the logs outof the woods with the Fergie and positioned them on the slightly higher ground side of the trailer. From there I roll or “walk” them up on the trailer. As soon as I manage to get a log a couple inches off the ground it’s all about balance.
Thats a hefty birch! Wuld nake a lot of sap
hello mike, probably a new woodgas victim…seems a nice mazda pickup…
If it is the old B2000 or B2200, he will have no fear of breaking the valves. Non-Interference engines.
Hello Mr. Mike, Usually Mr. Don notices some details in the background of the pictures,…
This is a 1989 Mazda B2600 that I recently bought, it has a classic gasoline engine with no electronics, it is a Mitsubishi 4G54 engine, I think it will be a good candidate for wood gas. A diesel engine with the addition of wood gas is a good and economical way, but it still needs diesel fuel, well, here you taught me that the vehicle must run 100% on wood.
