Wood supply

Jan, I hope you forgive me if I tell you your story gave me a good shuckle
Moments like that is when I consider renting an apartment and start playing golf, even though I know I would get bored to death first week.

Hmm, I bought new handles for this year.

Oh, you play golf??? I wouldn’t have guessed.
I recently suggested to a couple golfplayers at work to grow potatoes on golf courses

Sounds like my normal day :grinning:

I will take Johan’s advise next time.

Your new handles wont wear this way. :grinning:

OH that is a -great- idea!!! I never thought of using a potato as the ball. It might make it more fun. I usually shoot like -9 if I am in a hurry, otherwise it is like +1 or +2… But I should mention I keep score by how many balls I lose…

I watched a different video on yours- Unless Im mistaken , that is an International Truck chassis from the 1960s? that thing will outlast your grandchildren!

Yes Stuie

That is part of an old international truck I had in my scrap . I’m sure it has many many thousands of miles on it but I am driving it in reverse so maybe I can erase some of those miles :grinning:

You know those horrible useless waste of money Chiinees electric log splitters?

Well I bought one! its 5ton 220v  :cowboy_hat_face:
Now that my shoulders are buggered from years of hard work, I cant swing an axe. I haven’t got enough money to buy or make a 20 ton hydraulic splitter. so I watched a few videos on the ‘Harbour Freight’ log splitters. Honestly - It doesn’t matter what it has written on it- these things all come from the same street in Shanghai. It weighs under 40kg - can be stored standing on its end, Its silent unless its actually splitting a log - and the noise is less than a Nutribullet. cost me $200 nz - thats about 150usd or 75euro. second hand- Its dated as 2016. They are electric over hydraulic. It runs sweet and true. It has split everything that Ive put across it. 10 inch black wattle, pine, Knotty macrocarpa, hard

avocado, oak, citrus. It has an adjustable stop so that the piston does not have to go all the way back - so its actually faster quieter and cheaper than a petrol splitter. Yes 5 ton capacity is fine for all my tree trimmings around here. I cut to 16" 40cm as I have a small fireplace. In the photo Ive just split a weeks worth of warm in 15 minutes with no screaming pain from my shoulders. Thats the main win. the other win is, I now have a small 5 ton press for bearings and sleeves- I can finally press a new bearing all the way down my concrete mixer shaft.

Matt has the Harbor Freight version, and said almost the same thing. Except he didn’t mention using it as a bearing press, and of course different tree species, since cypress, acacia and avocado are rare in this neck of the woods.

Making chunks while the sun shines.

Also, got a visit from the gasified BMW - guy. He brought me a gift - 3D printed plugs for the blower outlets.

Be carefull, BMW is contageous, no mather if you drive Volvo or not :grinning: He made the best plug for sure.

And 3 d printing is contageous too. But I believe in plane steel. The boys made a 3 d printed inlet some time ago. Performed super, but heat got in the way.

If you try to repair BMW’s you for sure will own Volvo’s for the rest of your life

:grinning::grinning::grinning:yes you are right, off course. The good thing is BMW doesnt need a repair.

Sorry Goran, shot in front of open goal.

At least we dont drive around with top-boxes :grinning:

BMW engineers: how about building a engine without that toy-ish timing belt that needs replacement from time to time?

Good idea, we use a roller chain like in the good old times!

How about we use tiny chains from kids bicycles? Cost effective and fuel saving.

Good idea, then the chain needs periodic replacement, then we are as cool as the manufacturers using belts!

Yes! And because we are one of them that still puts in the engine the “rigth way”, not transverse, lets compensate for that by putting the chain in the REAR of the engine?

Good idea, lets give them mechanics what they deserve.

Sorry guy’s, do not take my rambling too serious
Well, nice cars Bmw’s, but i don’t want one, or?

Just saw an ad in a Victoria, BC Canada Marketplace posting. Seems like there is somebody selling Organic Firewood for $300 a cord.
