Gilmore style?

Koen Monday 16/9/2013 you explained, according to you, the difference between the kalle and Gilmore.
I want to be sure I understood.
Did you explain that if the charcoal was well done and dry the gilmore be as effective as kalle?
That if CO2 and water vapor come only from nozzle The Gilmore is very efficient and much simpler than the kalle?

It would be more efficient, coz the gas leaves the gasifier cold (in my case anyway)
the ambient temperature could gain about 15% efficiency
this heat can be used to produce more effective Hydrogen or more Co
also it opens the gate to convert Co2

looking forward to seeing more from you and your students .

Koen
the small section (5 inches) of the base your gasifiers allows it to improve the reduction (+ CO2 = CO)? Compared to the larger section normally used (20-25 inches)
For an old 2litres engine, 20hp, I wanted to use a pipe 7 by 24 inches to base.
What do you think?

called me if you do not understand my text.
I do not speak English.
but it didn 'not prevent to be passionate for gasification

Hi Thierry,
Having a difficult time to connect to this new looking forum.
The 7 inch pipe would be a little to small for the 20 Hp, it will get glowing at full power.
Make sure you give it room to breathe
Meaning that the air must be passing the charcoal bed without to much effort.

hi Koen
I would like to test on my two-liter engine, a generator with small nozzles verticals like you are building (ceramic nozzles for high speed 25 m / sec gas. And over) my concern for an engine 20hp 2-liter the nozzle would be 20 mm minimum diameter and I fear that the coal from clogging. What do you think of using 3 or 4 nozzles 10mm diameter installed side by side instead of one big one?

The small diameter nozzles you use to 25 meters / sec minimum they will create significant pressure loss?

The verticals nozzle clogging they sometimes small coal?

Hi Thierry,

The multi nozzle is a working solution.
I prevent clogging with a rod inserted when i shut down or just to poke the nozzle sometimes

changing the way i can replace the nozzles…
Standard pipe = 1"
reducing with adapters as desired
Also can mount the ceramic nozzles or the TIG cups

In the picture with stainless piping as nozzles 1"-3/4" and 1/2"
Have to cut them at length

new video, small gasifier startup
low quality charcoal, but ok for cooking

Beautiful county over there. I always admired two wheeled tractors and it’s good to hear a diesel run on charcoal… :raised_hands:

Working on my Low rider again… Taking time off…
Next week starting on a new location- workshop, want to drive this little fella

The last picture was before the modifications, ball head, seat level
Will keep it “naked” without the shiny bars , just a simple low rider

I really like the low rider! Could convert that into a motor home.
