Hi Al…I have been draining hopper condensate tank, cooling rail condensate tank, and the hay filter each night when I get home from work. No problems yet and its been below freezing for a week here. Truck has actually been running really well, however I have found out this last week it needs a new thermostat. Dang near half way to work before it starts to warm the heater up. I look at my hopper temp which only got to 65 degrees this morning, and see 400 on the 8 inch and start thinking how to get some of that heat in the cab…lol. Probably stick me a piece of card board in front of the radiator for now and put in a new thermostat this week end.

You may just need to add some coolant so it will circulate, I know that’s happened to me before!!! May help!!!
You have to have a squaw winter before you can have an Indian summer … M … This one is nasty … Keyboard won’t even work … M
it was my girl friend Pam’s (panda to her friends) birthday a couple of days ago… so I made her a panda plate… I’m not big on celebrating birthdays and the like so chances are you get something hand made if you get anything at all…
some scrap steel, plasma cutter and black paint… she was all giggly over it.
My good ol homemade wood boiler is keeping up toasty! If only I could stay inside all day.
Is the fire in the center barrow/hot water heater, trying to see how it works
Kevin, Yes the round part is the firebox. Water all around it in the oval tank.
I got home made one, ashfualt roller burn tube, water all around it, it heated up much quicker after i made the water space on top less area, mine heats my 32/28 foot shop and a 3rd of my house trailer single wide.heat off water jacket heats shop, water jacket heats trailer. beats insurence cancil if burner is 35 feet out doors away from trailer insulated shed around it if needed be. 9 years and counting on the one i built. Thanks
I had a good visit from David James and friends today . We put some miles on the wood truck and demoed the wood chunkier and tractor.
David has been around the block with alt- energy.

Went to ARK. and picked up my 47 International KB-2. Got some strange looks coming back to Alabama. Truck is in fair shape not rusted through. The cab, front cap and bed is going onto the 94 Dodge Dakota then the gasifier into the back of the truck. Lots of work ahead. I guess the Crazy train starts here for people that have never had an old truck. I parked the truck 30 years ago when I enlisted with Uncle Sam. Syrup season has started. The Mill is up and running 80 gal of cane juice equals about 8 gals of syrup. The cane didn’t make as good as last year looking at about 40 cooks this year. John.
You,Sir, will have the coolest woodgas truck around. I’m a little jealous.
John, What engine does it have in it … I have a 63 here which is quite a bit newer and I think it has the BG341 6 in it … Could be BG241 ?? which makes more sense… My father bought it new ($3000 even) and I learned to drive in it … But I have the service manual for almost all the trucks from that era … It’s in a metal box in the back of the truck so hopefully the mice haven’t chewed it up. Don’t know if it would cover the 47 engine but they really didn’t start changing things till around 1972 or so … Mike
For anyone interested in a trailer mounted gasifier but are not too good at backing them .
Also anyone want to guess the horse power to loaded weight ratio of this truck . I think we would need a big fire tube if this truck was working in hilly country
JohnG, Looks like you are going prehistoric! May I recommend flint and steel starting… I believe this will be a great truck!!!
On the hangout Friday night you were talking about Johnny Cash song “I’ve been everywhere” and I asked you if you heard the sequel to that song and you said no. Well here it is.
Hey Carl ,
You win ! That is a long trailer !!
I would hate to load or unload it , Long trip to the front of the trailer .
The truck came with a Green Diamond 214 Six cyl. That motor is long gone so thats why theres a big push to convert to the dodge dakota frame and runing gear. Thanks for seeing beyond the rust.
That truck looks better than the 1984 texes truck i am working on/that should be made too a nice classic antieck/nice project / thats a rare gem model, keep us posted ,Thanks
just showed up on my Google calendar. Is this all true?? Was Chris really a “Chris=mas” present?
