I had a request to saw some lumber and also had a few dead trees . The ground was dry enough yesterday to get to a couple that I cut and drug out.
The log in the foreground appears to be no good and will only have two short cuts for lumber. The bad sections have some real good value also if one heats with wood . The wife keeps this wood handy and can have a good fire going on a cold morning before the coffee is ready. It burns kinda like cardboard soaked in diesel fuel . Two or three pieces is enough
Pitch-splits here. Dangerous to sell. Wonderful starting fire wood. I’ve found to only allow no more than three pieces at a time access to the wife.

You really got that saw diald in,that makes me want too build a saw like yours, how Much are 2\6 boards going for with pine 14 feet long.Just estemateing.for floors joises
and roof headers.
I really hope to get some money for taxes. A bandsaw sawmill would be first in my list. For now, the neighbor gave me this for my chainsaw. It’s a lot of work and a lot of gas. This is a trial run on a 5" Birch log.
Thanks Wayne that’s good perspective on plank pricing,I haven’t bought a 2? ln about 8 years, since I got some help from a friend and tore down two buildings with crobars.the ones building fell apart with back ho bucket, once roof and walls were removed.they were about 30\30 feet square and had one by 4 and 1\six 8_10_ loads of boards, the boards were free for removeing the buildings. That sounds like a good price for brand new wood, with no nails too grind off.
Yep.Yep.
Even small system home electrical generating on woodgas does add up to quite an annual woodpile.
My new Yamaha EF2800i penciling out to 7 1/2 cords annually to have 500-2500 watts available hourly electrical for 16 hours a day 365. (old now - I do sleep more on the other 8)
Well the wood sweating-for-power’s is just another way to live long and healthy and wise!
Very nice Wayne.
A bandsaw sawmill is what I really want up here.
Where did you get the plans? I’m a guy that needs something to go by. How long did it take you to build?
