I’m using Joni’s design so I can’t really go much shorter. Need room in the gas jacket to hold slipped char.
I could make it a lot shorter if I went with a grateless design but then I’d be at the mercy of how compact or loose my char bed was with no way to fix it quickly.
Ordered another Sunpro AFR gauge, since the first O2 sensor is narrow band and the one I got for the Mazda worked decently. Wondering if I want to get an A Pillar gauge pod setup or just mount it to the dash on a holder.
Also need to figure out how long of an exhaust temp probe I’ll need to get to measure temps before the cooling rail and after.
Thanks Don i was trying too remember who had run ceramic blanket with no metal cover sleeve over t he blanket or blankets/,I might insulate the burn tube outer, and the outer heat exchanger too have more heat get pulled through the wayne Keith heat exchanger, then see what my cooling rail temps, end up at, for references.Lord willing i can finish my ceramic insulted Part WK part Don Manns and part KR design. Got my surgery over and done with all seems too be well in recovery time about 3 too 4 days most bleeding should be healed.healing well. Most bleeding gone 30 hours after my HOLEP lazor surgery.
Kevin I hope you make a speedy recovery. Don’t push yourself too hard and mess up your healing.
I’d have more work done if my shop roof wasn’t leaky and it didn’t rain every day. Summer is our monsoon season. Great for the gardens but not so much for my handiwork.
Thanks cody for the thoughts, I hate too not be able too hit the garoge projects, even though dont want too rush too far forward, That summer time in your areas must be like our winters/ spend more time indoors than out doors, The ac feels nice this time of year, though my 6" thick insulation garoge walls keep it cooling till around 3:00 pm if the night cools down good, I just dont fell like moveing too much extra, till next wens, when they give the officiel ok for.medium weight lifting. All seems too be going well, no abnormal blood loss problems, bleeding stoped at about 30 hours,The antbiotcs make me tired and drowsy a bit, I better off coasting next 6 days.
Well i am for now, the second prescribed dose of antibiotics, made me strait sick with diarea, so i ask for a blader coulture too find what type i needed, Only then they prescribed the better one on there list of about 15 different possible. They had given the ronge type, so the nurse said we needed too change antibiotics, after the culture examination. Maybe thats why they call them practitioners.
Thanks al, Ya good for the gut during antibiotic usage.keeps the gut more normal. Citpro is not too harsh for me, so i just eat and drink plenty of fluids, seems too work this time around.since you menchened it ,i might try some yogart, though i havent yet tryed yogart, sour crout next week maybe. If i eat milk products or yogart, it must be about 4 too 6 hours in between antibiotics, or it will slow the effects of antibiotics, they say in the rules. I think natures antibiotics are safer and work as good or better at times, or in between antibiotic break times. barbarry root bark powder helps as natures antibiotic when the prescribed crap aint working much good.
I’m looking at my dimensions and I can make the bottom portion a little shorter. I’ll have to do a more conservative BenP dimensioned hearth, I think this will be a safer choice.
Also my burn tube isnt a wide enough diameter to match Joni spec.
Went to crank up the Cavalier today, battery is dead. I suspect there’s a vampiric draw somewhere, God only knows.
I missed one O ring in the fuel rail, the fuel inlet for the rail. GREAT. It’s absolutely pissing out gasoline. Can’t find the O ring that came in the set I ordered so I’ll need to buy another one. Won’t be solved today.
I’m probably going to leave the battery with a float charger until I can daily drive it to keep it charged up. I still need to get an indemnity bond since this car lacks a title, I ran the VIN and it is clean so I’m sure I can get one for it.
I also noticed a bit of coolant weeping out of the head near the exhaust manifold between the head and the block near one of the water necks. It isn’t a lot almost like it’s sweating out. I’m hoping as I run the engine more the gasket will swell back up. There’s no burning coolant smell and the oil isn’t getting water in it.
Edit: I looked through all of the rubber washers and o rings that I could find, and I found one close in size, I oiled it up and jammed it in there best I could. No leaks for now.
Took it for a short spin up and down my driveway, it’s actually shifting through the gears and the brakes stop the car! I’m amazed since this car has sat for so long. Really glad I did some TLC stuff like flushing the coolant system before riding it around.
Looks like you live out in the country far enough, that motor sounded like plenty of power, it should power good enough on your charco unit. I think we have title laws here in michigan for lost titles, i got a toyuota motor home i would like too change ofer too pickup truck flat bed, and use the fiber glass camper shell on a trailer, I got too get that set up for inspecting before i chop and seperate, Good luck with the cavalier, i got one i could charco power for experiance building allso.OR USE WHEN GAS IS NEEDED.
Oh yeah. In NC we can get a Lost Title but it’s easier to find an insurance agency and get an Indemnity Bond. You pay a fee worth a percentage of the value of the car and you can tag or sell a car with a Bond, after 2 years you turn it in for a regular clean Title.
This car had the catalytic converter cut out of it, buddy I got it from buys all kinds of cars and planned to Dirt Track with this one so he sold the converter for it. Cleveland County doesn’t test emissions just Safety. After this car turns 30 I don’t need any inspections anymore. Just 4 more years of that.
Unfortunately the pipe got cut before the 2nd O2 sensor along with the wires for it but it’s not needed to run the car, O2 sensor at the manifold is what tells the computer for fuel ratio. I have a good length I can go off of to clamp in a new tailpipe and muffler. I have a tractor muffler never used I’ll put on.
Sounds Good i got an O2 pipe ishue on my dakota, i need to weld a peice of pipe on my exuaust , or after i replace the falling apart exaust pipes ,i will weld the nut from the original o2 exaust pipe in my new exaust system pipe reaching the o2 sensor. I got a cavaleir that runs good , bought with bad subframe i would like too charco power, after i see how your unit build fits together., i might raise up the trunk lid and install in trunk,if it all fits, filters, coolers ECT.
The trunk lid is pretty easy to remove, I finally got the hinge arms taken out today, just 6 bolts. Probably gonna use those bolt holes to put in the bed frame.
What I like is you can lower the rear seat’s back to access the trunk, and with the Bed installed I’ll still have room for a couple bags of wood.
When I get it mostly done I need to do a heavy detailing of the engine and interior this thing is dirty.
When you remove the trunk lid you’re left with your turn signals on the body and I think the brake lamps. Have to replace the Backup lamps.
With a bed put in the back you’ve got about 36 inches and then it’ll be level with the roof of the car.
