8 below zero this morning. Truck is buried safely under 3" of snow.
I’ll torture the other vehicles with the deadly salt slush, but not my truck.

18 below here, Chris. A few spots around us at 28* below. We got rain a while back so we have a 6" ice crust over a foot of snow. Added 3" of fluff a few days ago and it is treacherous walking almost everywhere. I’ve been using ski poles and still the occasional spill.
It was -39 F here this morning… god I love winter
Brrrrrr! You guys need to move south . . . . you’re making my bones ache . . . . 36 and sunny here this morning.
Hello All
Snow in Alabama, 15 degrees F and a sheet of ice on the road . This part of the state and south is shut down .
Been there, done that. It’s awesome, scary, beautiful, messy . . . . nothing like it. Be careful, and enjoy the rarity of the event.
lol… everyday (winter) occurance up here… I can imagine it would cause some trouble down there though.
I’ve been working on my son’s old john deere spitfire snowmobile… had some starter problems in the really cold weather a couple weeks ago and i’m just now getting around to sorting it out. seems to actually want to run now, not sure why it wouldn’t then… maybe some ice in the fuel lines, but i could have sworn I didn’t see any spark… not that you wanna play much in -35 F weather.
banged out some of its more noticable dents… I think we’ll fix it up proper this spring/summer for next winter.
Howdy Wayne,
Lookin at your pic… you could be my next door neighbor
Sorry to see ya have to deal with that stuff.
Bright side is, ya got a real good truck for it.
Stay Warm

Hello Carl, Arvid and Terry ,
The ice is what really shut things down . The schools in the area didn’t get the kids home before the ice hit and now they are getting to keep them all night.
Hey Terry,
You have shown videos with snow and ice so here is a couple back to ya.
Howdy Wayne,
I think I’ll wait for spring, before I visit ya.

Arvid, a Spitfire? I haven’t been on one of those in about 35 years.
Wow Wayne, the cold snap dipped pretty far south. Just on my way back to Minnesota. sure enjoyed the 70° weather in AZ. Now back to reality. has been a great break.
it’s a fun old sled… not a big fan of new snowmobiles… they don’t have any character. It’s surprising how well this machine goes through deep snow
Now there’s a machine. Does it have the steel cleats for traction?
steel grousser bars all the way accross the track… lol…
What else is going on !!
I attended a funeral last week with about 500 present . About the same amount of handshakes and hugs I knew the old flu bug would probably catch up with me and it did Sunday . Monday I had a visitor to stop by for a quick visit about the same time Mother Nature put an ice coating over Dixie . This is Thursday and he hopes the roads will clear enough this afternoon for him to get back home . ( 100 miles to the north ) We did have plenty of firewood and food.
still lots to do… have a fuel leak somewhere… new fuel lines through out, fuel filters etc… I think the tank grommet is suspect… no idea if I can get one up here… may have to make something.
It runs pretty good Arvid. I wonder… are you going to be the first to gasify a snowmobile?
This is the view from my office. Power’s off at the house so guess I’ll be heading home after while. Sure wish I could make “wood electricity”
Carl,
Time to mod the pull start genny so it will run off your truck!
