Life goes on (original thread)

How Wayne and family are doing now???

Hi all, I just talked with Wayne a few minutes ago and then it got black here and I actually had to run. He said he put his chainsaw in the shelter (storm t_t) as he calls it … They lost power yesterday and had it back but the storms are setting up headed his way. I hope they Peter out before they get there … Life is tough enough … He just got his computer going again. It’s 8:30 PM or so on Monday … Duck and cover … I just cut a bunch of disks with the new electric (cordless) chainsaw … It works good … Just a few Chinese defects … I had to bail out … Maybe chop tomorrow … Mike

Hello Herb,

Thanks much for the concern. We are all fine for now and hope the storms will fade before getting here.

Mike .

You misunderstood me. ( Storm Pit ) P as in Paul not T as in Tom .

Wayne, That’s how many dialects of the Hinglish language there is. I’ve had the crap beat out of me for laughing in a black neighborhood if you catch my drift. Good luck tonight your way. We usually get clobbered here between now and the second week of June. In Argos I’ll be headed to take a shower if the storms catch us there. Or, you can hunker behind the dumpsters. I was in the CD (civil defense) when I was kid so just think that way … Burn wood … Good luck tonight … BTW, we are still running our wood stove here. It’s around 40 degrees … We just got wind and a downpour when I got off the phone but this is the time of year we lose our roofs to baseballs … Mike

Rough night in Arkansas. Vilonia is 100 miles north of me.

ouch… I’m watching

Wayne is southeast of the highway about half way between Birmingham and Gadsden …
Time to maybe hunker at 9:48 PM central DST
Good luck all … M

Defiantly Ouch .
The worlds weather is defiantly in a state of flux !

Yesterday I was trying to make the decision to leave the vehicles under sheds and buildings to avoid hail damage or risk the building coming down on them . I chose to park the trucks out in the open . They should still be derivable with hail damage but the buildings are heavy enough to disable them .

More storms this afternoon .

W

Good luck Wayne…Do you have a storm shelter or basement?

Gary

Hello Gary .

Solid steel and so deep under ground we can’t hear the thunder !!!

Wow Wayne, that’s quite a bit of water, reminds me of where I lived in ohio. In 1998 I had 7.5’ in my house and my car and trampoline ended up under the neighbors mobile home.

Hello Ian ,

Yes that was a lot water but it’s gone now.

Doug Drost.

When we talked on the phone this week you mention you hadn’t seen a update or video on my son Tally.

This afternoon I pointed the camera his way a couple of times .

SWEM

PS Sorry about the nasty wind shield

Wayne,
I like that you have the young one involved and trained in.
I don’t think my kids know what to think about my direction with wood gas. I’ve only introduced it to them about 9 months ago and haven’t done anything constructive with it yet. They’re used to me buying new trucks, not used ones. For me, to be able to drive on fuel I prepared will put a bigger smile on my face than a brand new truck ever did.
We won’t get our first cut of hay for another month

Thanks Wayne, when we were in Kansas I thought the young Billy Boes was refreshing as a young woodgasser, then came Chris Seanz, but you have the record now. It will take a charcoal powered go cart with a kid to top it.

Young? Thanks Doug! I was actually approaching the big 4 0 around the time of the Kansas gathering. The years seem to fly by…

As being part of Over The Hill Gang I consider anyone under 50 as young.

I am to report to Nashville VA morning of the 15th to began Stem Cell Harvest procedure, I will be there till the 23th. Then home for 10 days and then back for “Inplantation”. Please take lots of pictures and videos and post! Thanks, herb

Difficult circumstances are inevitable, but attitude is a choice.

As far as age - “It ain’t nothin’ but a number” My neighbor’s mother lives with them and just had her 100th birthday, and walks without a cane. I have number 52 coming up on Sunday, and I tell people “I’m 18 with 34 years experience.”

Wishing you the best Herb I was really looking forward to seeing you and that Caddy at Argos but some things are just more important. There will be another chance when all the stars like up right Wayne I felt like a teenager till 3 months before I hit 50, now I just act like one.

Another thing I do that makes it harder and harder to find time for my wood project. I like doing to much stuff…LOL
