Life goes on - Summer 2021

Thanks for the help with the motorcycle tires. They weren’t glued on after all but even prying right at the point of contact that steel around the edge would not give. Sort of following Mikes suggestion I cut the tire on both sides down to the rim and then cut through the bands with dremel with a cut off wheel. fell right off then.

I plan very little work this weekend as we celebrate Independence day and driving to kinfolks .

I think my appreciation of Independence may be greater than 99.9% of the general population .

Sorry to hear that. Never an easy time. We keep you and your Dad close to our hearts!

My condolences Koen. That hurts if you are stuck at the other side of the globe

My father is the same age and still helping now and then. He had a ride to Fike in Herentals yesterday. Memories stay like Dan said. My father retired at 56 and started helping me. No one can take that away from me.

All the strenght to you.

My condolences Koen. Not easy loosing your Dad. Maybe he’s looking down and making all the elderberries bloom around here. Love the white blossoms and then the violet change over of the stems.

Hi All. As promised Part III of the The Malaise Era of the American Automobile Industry.
“The Revival”
Odd. I lived through this time and some of these changes I was oblivious to.

Ha! Now he promises a 1990’s Part IV

Koen I was able to hold my Fathers hand. I was the last in the room.
Still . . . after my Father died at 67 of cancers, I realized I would never have another chance to be a better son.
It still hurts sometimes.
All’s we can do is to live that better-sons Life.

Except for the Buicks, I hated all those cars. Tried a Suburu wagon in 1980 and it started falling apart after a year and a half. Went Camaro and Firebird after than and would still love to have either one back. I’d rather have an 80’s truck than anything after. Had an 87 full sized bronco. Only Ford I ever really liked.

Koen, I don’t know how to say those things, but you know what I mean.
Seems you have quite a few toys to keep your mind off sad things.

Btw, it feels like Thailand here right now. My 25 yo solar panels are up to the test. Told wife to clean up properly right now and save a few logs in wintertime. We have 1,000+ gallons of hotwater to spare.

Loosing your parents leaves a mighty large hole in your life. I always like to think that they are still watching over me and cheer at any successes.

What are your plans for that huge engine?

Hi Michael,
Summer side project, as i keep sucked into many other things, i revive the golfcart project
To replace these old kawasaki engines with slighly bigger
I don’t want to waste time to do maintenance repair these old buggers
The axle has diff and fw/n/bckw
Fuel to be: anything that i can grow and anything else than dyno fuel ( Charcoal, waste plastic in any form )

Sorry to hear of your father’s passing.
Yes family is very important even the DOW family.
I ask YEHOVAH for His Name sake and pray that the empty void of his passing will be filled all the wonderful memories you have of him and family in Yeshua’s Name. Peace be with you Koen.

Kinda strange day .

I had three calves born today . All three were black bull calves and all born within an hour while I set on the porch an watch. Two of the cows help lick each others calf .

Sounds like a good independence day Wayne, will bring good money at the cattle sale I’m sure. Grass fed organic beef is unaffordable around here for most people, that’s why I harvest water cows (beaver)

If you’re ever on the east coast we’ve got a real bad infestation of beaver. It’s blocking our big creek that feeds into the city reservoir.

We have a lot of that as well, numbers are very high since they outlawed footholds snare and conibears back in 2001 here. Takes a stought built cage to handle a 60lbs adult and a lot of work hauling gear and the catch around. But the meat is too quality and taste just like lean beef

I heard the pelt still catches a decent price too.
