The country folks out here in michigan used too say we had wild dogs around, maybe they meant kyotes. The farthest i have shot my 12 gauge was 50 feet down from my deer blind tree stand, Not much gun shooting practice here either.I got a deer that year though.
Around here 223 is going for 16-18$/ 20 rounds 556 add 5$ a box. I’m reloading it for about 24c a round with bulk 55gr for plinking ammo. My fur hunting bullets are 55gr hornady vmax puts a coyote down for a dirt nap real quick. That’s spinning from a white oak armament barrel at 2800fps accurate out to about 600 yards even though I have never shot that distance. Shots over 200 yards are rare in the forest around here unless you want to shoot across a canyon
Ok thanks Marcus Norman, thats one long range bullet, I would be lucky too see out 600 feet on a clear morning hunt. Thats a good deal on your bullets, keeps the price in range, i was thinking if buying box of 20 or 12 gauge bird shot , and turning them into slugs/ is that propery posible.Or would that be too dangerous with the primers still in the bird shot cartiges.? is there a good place too buy spent shot gun cartiges. And primer replacements.
Cut shells make a quick slug but not very accurate and not very……uh……favorably looked at by LE. But I have put slugs inside of bird shells, melted wax into the bird shot to make a slug, replaced the bird shot with steel ball bearings to creat buckshot there a lot of ways to make custom shotgun shells. 209 primers are sold at pretty much all sporting good stores give me a second for a how to basics video
Kevin I do that all the time!
I’ll PM you how I do it.
These are Winchester Super X Target shells turned to slugs, they’ll go right through the steel belts of a semi truck tire.
Let me change the topic a bit to something new:
A creek-side bank washed exposed Mount Saint Helens fire agate found by the 8 years 9 months old foster girl Rose, yesterday when her Dad came to visit.
This is just off the lower edge of our property.
Sometime way back when it was spewed out and fell out of the sky into an ash fall fieild. Got incorperated into soil to wash expose later.
Yep. Metal roofs only for us here.
(Kevin if you use the same brand commercial Forster slugs in your 20ga and practice, practice, practice you can get 4"-6" groups at 100 yards. A for sure coyote killer. I never take my coyote pictures. Mums the word. With a torn-up slaughter chicken carcass bagged&tagged in the deep freezer in case I’d get questioned. “Livestock Predator”. Then 7 1/2 lead shot out of the same 20 ga works for chicken hawks too.)
Steve unruh
Thanks much marcus Norman-- That was just the vidio info i needed .
Ya i think the 20 gauge kicks a little easyer then a 10 or 12 gauge and is still a good live stalk preditor tool. Thats farther than i would want too shoot large or small game either way, plenty good enough of a gun.
He must of enjoyed them chickens a lot, he is so full he taking a nap right in front of your truck and letting you take a picture too. Nice little critter play dead now for real.
Bob
Nice fire agate steve and a big one too. Do you think it is a May 18 th 1980 year?

Happy 4th of July everyone , Independence Day
Well, it’s a day. I see a tug of war between those of us seeking independence and those doing everything possible to make sure everyone is more dependent. In truth we never actually declared our independence from England. Study Admiralty Law. Sorry to be a bummer but smoke and mirrors is not actually freedom.
Thanks Cody. Happy Independance Day. Living in one of the smallest countries in the world, it is hard to realize/imagine how big your country is. As a matter of fact, every thing is bigger on your site of the pond
Mr Tom, dont worry. You are as free as you think you are. All up to you.
Happy independence day to everyone.
Let us remember all those who have sacrificed to enable us to celebrate our freedom. And i hope everyone will be able and willing to do what they can to ensure that it continues.
FREEDOM, I am free to think what I want to think. No one can read my mind. Others can try to force me, but I still do not have to believe what others say. This is true freedom, and this is where freedom begins, it is in your intermost being of your self and soul and mind. A free independent will, or freedom indepentance willing person. This is true any where on the earth. The power of freedom and independance. Happy Freedom and Independance Day Everyone. In the USA we are celibrating it on the 4th of July. But we should celibrate it every day and show it everyday everywhere on the earth in the faces of those who want to take it away. I am FREE. Now I have said it. What are those others going to do to change my mind? This is freedom and Independance and it starts with each one of us independly thinking this. Millions have taken it to the grave and many more will. RIP for all those who have.
Bob
Hey Bob I think you will like this one, local to us gun law channel that delves into independence this day from a power of the people standpoint. We celebrate it here on this day yes, but it should be everywhere every day celebrating that we are a free people world wide
A trip to the recycling facility. When I was about to leave, one of the staff shouted I forget to dump a couple barrels still on the bed Told him he was a really funny guy.
JO, your wife must be happy when you bring home such things.
