Tone, you misunderstood. She was very happy This was junk I had to part from. In the pic I was on my way to the junk yard.
I never throw away old tires or cardboard. Old tires stacked up make perfect compost bins or if you get indeterminate potatoes you can keep stacking and growing four or five feet high. then just pull the stack apart to harvest. Cardboard for weed control. For a garden, cut it into strips and make a grid with openings big enough for your plant. When the plant comes up, mulch around it and over the cardboard with leaf mold. Unlike weed clothes, which is a pita when it starts to break down, the cardboard will disintegrate.
JO, sorry, Iām really clumsy.
Thanks for the tips Tom. The tire in the pic I already cut out a patch from for something. Luckily I have another dussin in good shape enough for compost
Iāve been mulching a lot with grass clippings and sawdust. I will certainly try cardboard in the future.
No worries Tone. The misunderstanding understandable. In this community itās more likely to bring junk home
Ahh . . . but only bringing home by special arrangement āwith the BOSSā.
Beware the āaccommodationā. She gives up on you, and you claim the outside of the property.
And she then claims the house as Herās to do as she pleases!
You will find this accommodation gets very expensive. And no fun to trip-over going across the house in the middle of the night over that days revenge furnitureās re-arrangement.
Hereās what works sneaky. Have enough stack up sure . . . , but all neatly categorized. Sneek in new found added hiding in plain sight. One added tire will be lost in a stack of five.
Another . . . I can see a few here know well . . . have areas to just let the weeds grow . . . hiding piles. Distract from this by being very helpful keeping just around āherā house weeded, neat and clean.

OH! And one more.
Never, ever leave your computer open taking the insistent dog out for his morning walk.
Wifie decided to use my opened up computer to monitor the kidās tablet requests for games purchases.
Yep. She read my last.
Busted. Caught out.
Boyāo boy is that gonnaā cost me.

I told my wife that she is welcome to look at anything I put on-line. Passwords and all. She told me she knows sheās going to die eventually but prefers itās not from boredom. You guys may find this hard to believe, but as a rule women donāt find us as interesting as we find each other.
Lots of vehicle building threads have been started in the passed few weeks. Looking forward to all of them being completed and more vehicles driving on wood or charcoal gases. My included.

Top-down, Steve. Top-down enviroment
You need stealth mode
Canāt believe it. Iām shocked
This is interesting. The people in power are actually doing as much as they can to create a world wide famine. I am wondering what Joep knows about this video. As he says, not being addressed on at least US media.
@bew just watched your two newest videos, looking good! I canāt tell if itās just the camera lens playing tricks but I think youād benefit from breaking down the char pieces a bit more. I like to size my char down with a 1/2" square sized rabbit wire screen so Iām left with big pieces to break down and a storm door screen to get the dust out. Good idea to build a bit of metal line before the filter to get some cooling like you mentioned.
Tom, morning. Yes, the big powers play with people. No, freedom is not black and white, it is what you make of it. Nothing has changed since the dark ages. Just dont pay any taxes any more and see how free you are. Go with the flow is my motto. Sometimes you have to stand up but most of the times it is easier to go with the flow. My moment to stand my ground was when I had a problem with the tax office. I was so furious I stopped working, bought me a motorbike and wend to Dubrovnik and back. 4000 km in 4 days and still not cooled off. That was end of marsch and wondering to take a detour for some snowboarding on the way back. In short, it was cold but not cold enough to cool me. Long story short, you cant win from the lords. Just give them what they want and try to double it via the back door (in this case it was tripled). Go with the flow.
Anyway, about the Netherlands, the man discribes it quite accurate. For a revolution you have to go to France, it wont happen here. I think a few more days and the farmers will go back to work. But it is a un-Dutch mess. I have heard we are the three biggest export country in the world for food. Cant believe that, anyway, we export more then we import. And for sure there is a lot wrong in this sector. Soya is coming in from South America, we have around 40 million pigs (on 18 mil people). The pigs shit on this post stamp and when they are meat , it is sold to Italy or other countries. And we complain about our airquality? A few years ago we were in New York. It surprises me how clean the air is in that metropole. I think, and that is my personal opinion, that everything has to go back to human measures. Not only agricultural but politics also. I have had it with those lasy bastards. Chris pointed me on Covid, I was scared for some time, but the last year politics made things wurse. We were (and the rest of the world) in lockdown and for what? Something less then a flue! Look at the Ukraine, same story. I totally lost faith. So, my motto again, go with the flow. As this little country got the sea on his knees, it is very hard to change the river. It is easier to swim along then swim upstream. All electric? Ok, lets try that one. Wow, that sets you free. Only a small generator needed for the dark months. The only thing is that Big Brother (internet) is always watching you. Maybe I build myself an EV (do you want to sell yours Al F?) or buy a chinese one without connection to the www.
Long story short, I dont want to get lost in conspiracy theory but the big powers rule your world. It is up to you to find your corner of freedom. For me, that is my family.
About the agricultural sector. There is something wrong. It is about maximizing profit. That is what I mean with back to human level. Back to nature would be bether. Something in between it will. If you see the machines working on a field nowadays, it is crazy. This sector heavily depends on fossile fuel and subsidy. We know we are running out of the first one. The second one is very unhealthy too. If you cant run your business without support from the government, you have to do exactly what they say. It has grown that way in the last 50 years, and now politics want to change that in a week. Grazy! I am glad I am not a farmer. They should be bought out, but the money is gone after Covid. So now they just get killed, financially. Unreal. Farmers want to block the airfields. I am ok with that, the are allowed to do anything. They are threated very, very unfair. But like I said, for a revolution you have to go to France, here they go back to work in a few days.
Got to respect the french when the protest or strike no half measures
And it usually works!
Mowing my lawns yesterday I noticed 2 trucks out collecting scrap
Do we throw away so much now that its cost effective to make a living as a modern day rag and bone man or is a sign of economic decline ?
530 the bell tones and it time to get up to work
Iāve been laying for what feels like an hour
Thinking about the scrap collectors, how much I dislike the mine, such things
Joep, as much as I managed to get to know you through your posts, you did not surrender to the āflow of the raging riverā, like most people on this forum, you are just trying to adjust the boat with which you will row against the current. Your own power plant, wood-fired power plant, food production, home workshop for production and repairs,ā¦ and what means the most, the knowledge you have in various fields, enough to survive on a lonely island. I think that our way of āsocializingā is a kind of revolution and rebellion against the system.
Thanks Tone. I (think) I like raging rivers. Going downstream, not upstream. I have been a taxidriver for ten years in the city during study ( yes I know, mr Wayne has a very nice expression on that oneā:joy:). Ran into a lot of problems, always came out unharmed and the people that didnt want to pay, payed double. Nice stories around a campfire and a beer. I was so pissed with the tax office that they had to pay triple. The solution is not fighting but grabbing opportunities to get what you want. Much more effective and less effort.
Me on a lonely island? No, I would starve. We need each other. People live in a herd. The trick is to find the right one.
Not all of use have surrendered Tone
But when ever I try to get folks to join the glorious peoples revolutionā¦
Well I find people throw rocks at me more than listen
Conspiracy Theory is just the blinders those in power use to negate any real thought among the people. But you are right Joep. You cannot fight the current. You can drag yourself up on the bank however and avoid the rapids. Providing your own food, water and energy sources and trying to stay under the radar is the best you can do. It is obvious that those in power are becoming desperate. The more that people start to realize what they are doing the more desperate and viscous they become.
