Hi Johan, blank gasoline are available on some gas stations, not many, but every boating gas station have it. (Sjömack)
Not new hole making drills, no.
They do have split angled tip. Spiral fluted back a short turn or two. Mostly straight gauging shank. They can be used to enlarge existing orifice holes incrementally in soft brass, copper, aluminum, cast zinc metals.

I will for sure check when I pass next time. I have one just 4km away from home in Torsång.
Yes, they have good diesel fuel also, much more stable and good for “season” tractors for example.
Oh, and there are special drills for jets also, i have some, very thin, very expensive, one needs a magnifying glass to read the size.
When using these the jet should be put in the drill, and the drill-bit hold tight with fingers, if done the opposite (normal) way one can just break the drill-bit and throw it away, no need to even plug in the drill…
These days it seems like I need glasses for just about anything with text on it.
Yes, I actually buy diesel from there but home delivered with a truck. Looking more deeply into @Tone tractor thread for inspiration, looked at a tractor the other week for woodgassing, a Fordson Major kerosene but I didn’t want it, it had no oil in the gearbox and no oil in the rear axle and the fuelpump was shot. Started on ether though but I declined.
Saw another one a few days ago but a diesel one, thinking of converting perhaps to glowplugs so I don’t have to mess with an ignition coil.
And here’s an update on the Honda engine, i dig into my stuff and found a 6,5hp clone engine that hasn’t run much, i pulled the carb and checked it out, looked good.
Shifted the float, no noticeable difference, clone float to the left.
It seemed to run better, (maybe just a delusion?) but still rich.
So ok, i shift the whole carburetor, the clone one had a much smaller venturi and throat, but no other difference, worth a try.
And: it runs perfect smooth, good power, some “hunting” on the governor, but no black smoke, not even under HEAVY load.
It still annoys me i never found the problem with factory carb though.
Yes frustrating alright.
Since it is too fuel rich; maybe not something clogged, mis-adjusted, but something now missing.
Like a press-in flow restrictor insert. Gone now. No readily noticeable by its absence.
The two Stihl weed eater carburetors I had to replace after 10 years on non-ethanol due to drownding flooding were 1st generation made-in-China after Stihl bought out and moved the carburetor manufacture. Instead of using a gasket and an expanding metal plug for the insertion wells sealing they used a pour-in epoxy to seal these off. It; with gasoline and lube oils exposure over years then began shedding particles. Holding open needles off of seats.
So . . . missing! the old proven ways!

It is nice to learn new things, this was completly new to me
Goran, when something doesn’t work as it should, it doesn’t give me peace,…
Your example - too rich mixture.
-the main nozzle is not the culprit
-nozzle for idling and light loads, the problem here is whether the nozzle bore is enlarged due to corrosion, whether it does not seal with the housing, whether the air inlet channel is blocked, whether one of the holes in the throttle valve is blocked,… these the holes are located in the area of high vacuum and an excessive amount of fuel can easily enter here.
With a thin wire made of steel rope, it is possible to check and clean these small holes, especially the air duct
Jan,
A long time ago, my friend’s dad, an avid fisherman, had one of these electric smokers when smoking Walleye caught in the Saint Clair River North of Lake Saint Clair in Michigan, USA. He used it all the time, and the smoked walleye was yummy. They still make these!
That looks like what is on my mower, i had to make a plastic piece to fit under the float because if it went all the way down, the needle would come partway out and not let float go back up or closed.
And they still work great!
Mine lives on the front porch always at the ready. For trout and salmon mostly. We just returned from the lake it was the wife’ys birthday and she wanted to spend it fishing we slayed the bluegill
Birthday Fishing is the best #fishing #bluegill #panfishing
Daddy still got big fish of the day, that’s a 9” fillet knife
Pound and a half bluegill are not the normal around here, happy to have it (male fish by the way, big female get a pass to keep breeding)
Had a good afternoon. Met with Raymond Rissler ( missouri gasifer ) at his sawmill operation. He wanted to check out my dakota( he would like to be able to attend a woodgas meet and meet Wayne) and i got to see his gasifers—sawdust and charcoal. Very interesting gentleman.
Do you have a recipe for what I can do with smoked fish Marcus? Ideally, it should remove most of the taste of fish, the wife just wants cod and salmon.
Its been a hard couple of days, but extremely rewarding.
Its comunity wheat, 3 families got together and we crop rotate on each ones land and work together. This crop was at a close living friend.
The old charcoal burning BCS shined again. This time it got a new skirt.
A simple device, wheat falls on the plate and a second person collects it and puts it aside, the group behind then tyes the bundles and stack 4-6 together to dry. When we got the hang of it it was like a dance…
Good job. It doesn’t have to be complicated to make, the idea has to come first
I really like the scenery in Slovenia, it is beautiful, I have to go there someday.
looks very fine, the wheat sheafs, the mower application and the haystack…!!!
Interesting Steve. How old are your Stihl weed eaters? I have a 12 year old Stihl that is developing carb issues too. I took apart the carb, checked diaphragms and ran a wire through the passageways. It got fresh fuel and it ran well for a while, but is back to poor running after just a short while. I was considering a carb transplant for this too.
Hi MartinS.
Both had been bought new ~2006. Problem occurred early on first usages in the Spring of 2016. 10 years. The FS250 had ~800 hours on it. The little FS85 only had at most 100 hours one it. Gasoline exposures times were the same. I want to say that the carburetors were Zama? branded.
Wikipedia has a decent article up on Zama. It’s production changes locations history.

Here is a recipe that works with any white meat fish, this is what we did with the bluegill last night and it was fantastic, couldn’t even tell it was fish at all the veggies mask and fishy taste that was there
Excuse the deep south lingo, this guy sells a product and he is good at garnering attention for it use the spices you like or look up what is in the spices he makes and follow it both work well. We have ten more Patty’s frozen now for a quick thaw and fry dinners
