Thats some hot weather than usual- I dont think i would want to live in your area all summer-though all winter would be nice. That heat index makes me get dizzy just seeing posted.

Hi Kevin, sorry to hear about your health issues. BTW, did you get the Covid jab? There were complications due to the vaccination, but also some ways to clear them up. There is a group of doctors who focus on this issue. They also treat long Covid effects if symptoms are related to the actual infection.

How long do the post-shot symptoms last? I thought like 99% of them were temporary. Like every flu shot I have gotten has knocked me down for a day or two.

Well, this is a hot button topic. It depends upon your source of information. Main stream media claims no problems, but the VAERS (vaccine adverse event reporting system) shows a huge increase in adverse events. Some of the reported events are injection site reactions, fatigue, headache, and low-grade fever. But others are much more serious like Bell’s palsy, myocarditis, brain fog, thrombosis, stroke, vertigo, numbness, chronic fatigue and many more.

These are much more common than the media reports. Life insurance companies report a 40% increase in death and disability since 2021. 10% is considered a black swan event, but 40% is a 10 sigma event. So the symptoms are long lasting and in the case of myocarditis life long.

Desided to get youngest boy outside for a fun project. We desided on some amateur rocketry.

We threw together a sugar rocket,

That was using 3/4"x5" pvc. So he thought we should try 1" next

FAIL!
Next we used a 1/4" dowel for the stick.
Rocket was a little heavy. Ended up more horizontal before it gained enough velocity.

All in good fun, better than sitting infront of a screen. And did what it was suppose to do
got their gray matter working and thinking about how to adapt, modify and improve.

That looked like a fun project, the kids enjoyed it and I bet you did too. It sure put a smile on my face watching it

Changed the oil in the 2011 Sierra.

Many might know, but the 4.3L usually comes with a shorter oil filter, but it will also fit the longer PF52/PF52e oil filter used in the V8 engines.

Normally the oil capacity is 4.5 Quarts of oil, but with a PF52 a nice even 5 quarts puts it perfectly at the Full mark on the dipstick after the engine has primed a dry PF52. Don’t bother pre filling the filter.

4x4 might not be able to use the longer filter, I’m not sure. You’d have to check your clearances.

I’m going to start running Valvoline Extended Protection premium full synthetic. I want to see how charcoal or woodgas affects this oil.

@Jan what is the recommended oil weight for your 4.3L? Is it 5w30 or 10w30?

Today i should have attended the “moped fun-run”, but forgot, i’ve “double booked”, no worries, i hadnt got the time to get the charcoal moped up and running anyway.
Local group from “Federation of Swedish Farmers” invited me to their yearly barbecue and meet, to show some old stuff, and-don’t you dare to show up without your woodgas truck" they told me

Hard to see in a pic how steep this hill is, on the way to the local outdoor- sports clubhouse where the event was hold.
The truck struggled with the hill, without shifting down, which made me proud

My little exhibition.

Truck in place, later after talking and eating a lot, i fired it up, with a audience of 40 people :grimacing:
Good thing is one becomes used to people looking, and asking questions. and learn some “standard answers”. Ofcourse i was a little to self-confident, and crank the starter a little to fast, but after some struggle for the starter it ran fine

That seems to happen to me also. Crank, crank, crank
finely starts when showing the truck off. Funny how it starts better on wood gas than gasoline. Lol.

Thanks for the pics, Göran. You’re having too much fun. I’m impressed you find the time for it all.
About show and tell - I agree with all you said, but I don’t have the history of woodgasing you do. I have trouble with what to call things in Swedish, being fed the Alabama woodgas terminology night and day for almost a decade

NO i never got the jab, i just fought the bug with my god given amune system- and prayed a lot- I am just getting started on the fasting and prayer-- i am way behind on the commandments- fasting and praying as bible states- too be obediant saint.I am 64 years old and my younger years of alcohol and smoking tobacco may be catching up to me, i quit both at 47 years old. I need to go have a colonoscopy since by doc. said i may have signs of poylups from other test- hopefully i aint loaded with colon cancer- 3 leading cause of death- behind respritory, and one other,I think its suger diabeties.

That is a coincidense you mention that JO
My woodgas history has been 90% in Swedish, books and stuff, old woogas guy’s.
Can’t really remember when i found DOW forum, it was someway through Dutch Johns site, or a pic of his Volvo on a google search, anyway i was a part-time lurker for pretty long, and now: almost addicted to this wonderful forum, and all the nice people

So, to get to it: yesterday when talking about my truck, i accidentally called my “vedmagasin”(Swedish) -Hopper! Hopper? They asked, -yes it’s woodgas terminology, i replied
What do you think about that?

I think a hopper may be a frog or bunny rabbit. I would not try and fill either of them with wood chunks. I don’t know what a vedmagasin is but I bet it doesn’t hop.

Hard to photo this for effects; but the early signs of Fall are here for us now:

Cold nights these last two. 38F/4C and then 42F/6C. Less sunlight hours in the days.
The Vine maples and Small-Leaf maples are coloring. The cottonwoods yellow turning an dropping now their leaves.

Maybe frost any night soon now.
Wonderful, glorious, cooler, wetter Fall after drought-break. My favorite time of the year.

Ha! Ha! In English a bin, a bunker; stores. A hopper feeds materials.
