I’m learning to drive on wood, just like Marcus, …
Today, the generator produced about 10 kwh of “green”, in fact so much energy went into the grid in addition to the consumption in the house. The heat would be enough for heating, the radiators heat up nicely, …
Joep, the circuit breaker does not work as planned, the problem is the inductive component of reactive energy, which flows through the conductors, I will also add capacitors for compensation as well as for independent operation of the generator.

Haha! Professor Baltazar
Tone, wouldn’t it be possible to use a standard load gard for a circuit braker? Not as much fun, but…
What’s your long term goal here? I suspect you already realise you could save 10 times as much on the same amount of wood if you replaced gasoline or diesel usage instead of electric. Is your plan to finally switch to a syncronous generator and go off-grid?
Jo , it’s a test track and a learning ground for me. I may build a garage for the car on this site when my son is doing up the attic flat and there will be space for a generator next to it. Of course it will be more powerful, about 10kW, but to get off the grid it would need at least 20kWh of batteries, which costs a lot, …the rest will be network operation.
For short daily runs I am planning to buy an electric car , which will thus feed on wood , but I am very tempted to do a conversion of the car in your style . Difficult questions you ask me Jo, I have to be careful with my answers.
You need that anyway, and some extra to check if there is power consumed or delivered. Going to order the powermeter Tone. Easiest way.
I ordered 10 kwh, prices are still dropping. If the Yanmar is running, these will be unboxed. Next project
Joep , what is the price for 10kWh , do they have a BMS and a inverter built in?
No, all separate components. I will make a picture later. LiFePo4 (lion is not coming after the last explosion) was around €120/kWh. BMS around €100. My son build a 1 kWh batt pack for his mountainbike but having problems with the controller. I want to see that working first. Balancing is done, bms working.
Litokala batteries.
Looks like pretty good price. I checked prices on Czech market. LiFePo4 cell 3,2 V with 5 Ah capacity costs 7€. It amounts to price cca 460€/kWh, which is almost four time higher than yours.
Yes, that Czech company sells quality, but that comes with a price. My son said Litokala is good quality, the downside, it is from Alieexpress. But on the other hand, everything is from China these days.
I checked it, 16 pieces primatic cells 3.2 V 200 Ah 1C make 9600 Wh. Costs were €1147.
BMS Daily 120A €97. Bigger BMS was much more expensive. 100A is sufficient for my intended use.
I’m assuming that you guys are not having the same supply problems we are having getting goods from Asia. I don’t think I would order from there as things stand here right now.
Kristjan is doing engine tuning on his Skoda (I feel a bit guilty that he dismantled a working engine and now it’s freezing next door) but I’ve started tuning the heart of the gasifier, lowering the fire hose a bit, additional nozzles to mix the pyrolysis gases with fresh air, bearing ring in the restriction,…
Jo , don’t laugh too much , we Slovenians have a birth defect.
Your gasifier looks like a uterus. Too weird? Then I apologize.
what can I say, the heart of the gasifier has become so, the desire is for the pyrolysis gases that go down the wall and the fresh air to mix and then hit the glowing charcoal. The upper ring, however, will shake the fuel.
I hope you can use the translation for this, it was quite interesting.

Thanks, Jan, good reading.
Moisture and heat economy. Sounds familiar
That looks super slick!
That is slick. What is the shaker motor from?
