Hi Jakob, I was just thinking, you said you figure 1.7 pounds. This figure high on wood you use. So what do you think you actually use when driving your truck?
Bob
It is probably closer to 1.3-1.5 on the highway.
That means I will get to travel pass Choteau with you.
Are you going to be hauling wood in a trailer behind your truck too.
Bob
I will chunk as much as you need. We have a lot of sun in the forecast. I will chunk on my car hauling trailer to dry them out. How many pounds do you want?
Bob no i plan to just have the back of my truck i can put about 900 lbs on there though if i load it right. and the trailer behind the other truck.
If i get to your place empty it will take about 1250 lbs to get to the next stop I donāt imagine getting there empty and that was figured a little high as well so around 1000lbs should easily pull me through.
Iāll cut up 600 lbs for a little buffer. When you head out of here Iād recommend taking 31 along the lake. That would take you right into Muskegon and then Holland.
I just went and checked on the chunks and tied up the bags to make them a little easier to handle. They are still weighing in at an estimated 850lbs. I am a little over 300 miles from Wenatchee, so it should be more than enough to get you up that way, and it might even cover the round-trip to the coast, which is at least another 200 miles or so depending on where you go.
Jacob try to give me notice a day before you get to Nebraska so I can let the boss know I wonāt be at work that day.
How is he getting from Cedar to Minnesota?
Hi Bruce, Jakob is driving from my house in East Wenatchee, Washington to Choteau Montana. On the wood I will be hauling in my truck. From there to Minnesota on the wood he picked up at Mikeās place in Kent Washington. I have already hauled wood from Mikeās place to my place to replace the wood he will be using to get to my place. We are doing a wood relay of sorts. Not sure if Jakob is picking up more wood at Choteau. When I run out of wood that I am hauling I will head back home. I am pretty excited that I can be apart of the support group on this epic trip that Jakob is doing. History in the making.
Bob
There is a bridge called the Mackinac bridge. all i know about it is I found it on google maps. I plan to cross that to head into MI
If you have never been on a large bridge you are in for a treat. The Mackinac bridge is huge and it towers over the great lakes.
I was on one in New Orleans But it has been years I am looking forward to it.
Not that much of a treat on a motorcycle. Did it many times in the past. The grating makes you feel like you are riding on ball bearings.
This is something to see and you might depending on your timing when you come this way.
Ok, from Minnesota to Cedar you will be going through the UP. We can meet at Covington junction, where 141 meets 41.
We can bring fuel in chicken feed bags.
If you need a break, and welding, you can come and stay with us.
At any rate, we should discuss your route through the UPā¦
41 from Covington to Marquette has some road constructionā¦ about a mile of dirt path. We should find out what route has the least construction for you.
Lol, at Da Yoopers Tourist Trap there is a wood powered tractorā¦free bathrooms!
Ok What route do you suggest? I will see how things go about if we stay or not it is a long ways off still.
I will research and get the latest update on road construction. 41 may be fresh paved by the time you are coming through.
You will be coming through during the best time of the yearā¦bugs are gone and so are the tourists. Traffic should be light.
Mike LaRosa was the last one through here with a wood gas truck.
I hope you feel like stopping for a while. I know I am excited.
Loaded and ready to leave except for the electronics and a few odds and ends should be pulling out of here early in the morning .
Looking good, I am anticipating your adventures!
