Life goes on - Summer 2020

Yes, take your rest Billy. Here almost the same, no energy. But luckily no or mild flu. Maybe because I take my rest. Anyway, my energy is back and no strange ear and neck pains anymore.

Garry, economics come when covid slows down. Tonight on the news the Netherlands go down 1,7%, Belgium 3,9%, France 4, Spain 5 and Italy almost 5%. Wurst ever!??? Spain is taken the heaviest beaten, just like 2008. But after all, it is just a few %, and economic system is collapsing. Because everyone is specialized, everything is connected. One spoke from the wheel and you fall. Yes, no one knows what is coming. Or live like Kristian, the good life.

Strange, what is happening. And Mr Steve is right, it is the panic that is really messing things up.

Agreed with all of you. Steve is right. We can survive almost anything, but fdr was right about the fear thing. God has not given us a spirit of fear.

As for symptoms, I can hardly believe the test results. There is no doubt this is a bad flu-like deal. I had swine flu and sp fl beefore, this is not it. Now on day 12 of symptoms. Today is Worst day yet

Hopefully luck is with you. Keep the oxygen handy, the stories Iā€™ve heard from people is that it can start like a bad cold, and then suddenly can become much worse.

Thoughts and prayers here that you make a full and speedy recovery.

Seems like there have been lots of mystery long duration respiratory things going around this year. I had something October(ish) that would keep knocking me down just when I thought I was over the hump. Lasted about a month.

My wife had a dry cough with otherwise mild symptoms that lasted 6 weeks around Jan/Feb. My daughter (about 16mo at the time) had it too but only for a week.

Strange & unprecedented times indeedā€¦ I see more danger in the cures (both economic and medical) than in the illness at this point.

Hi Brother Billy, this is my prayer for you and your household.
That Yehovahā€™s face will shine upon you all and that the word of God in the Bible starting with verses Psalm 91: 1 -16 be upon you. I am sure you know these verses well. These words are for all of us in this time of trouble that we are living in.
Just one thing here to know.
We see and say the word ā€œLORDā€ in the Bible, but really in the Hebrew Bible or Torah it is YHVH and with the Hebrew vowels added to it is YeHoVaH and not the word LORD or ADONAI.
YEHOVAH is Godā€™s only personal name He has. This is the name God spoke to Moses at mount Sinai. His name is not a title name like Lord. In the Hebrew language the word LORD is ADONAI. This has been all hidden from us for thousands of years. Because the Jewish Sages or Leaders did not want just anyone to know Godā€™s true Holy name YEHOVAH. So they forbid anyone to say it out loud. So when they see the word YHVH they are trained from youth to say ADONAI. This has carried throughout to this day for us to say LORD or ADONAI in the Bible or Torah. It was even translated LORD in our Bibles but with all Capital letters.
But in the last days it is written, " The Gentiles will Know My Name." And also it is written, "they will Call out loud My Name and I, YEHOVAH will hear them.
So I just prayed this out loud.
ā€œYEHOVAH, I ask that You will heal Billy and that your face will shine upon him and his family. So that they can get back to doing Your work, in YESHUA nameā€. (Godā€™s only begotten Son)
Yehovahā€™s name is for us to proclaim out loud it has POWER.
It is no longer a secret. It is for everone who wants to know YEHOVAH the Healer, and Creator of all things through His Son Yeshua.
Blessings to you all.
Bob

Hope you can recover soon and be back to 100% Billy, the virus may have passed through our household already but no immediate symptoms come to mind. Both my parents are currently working and will continue to work, and I am working two part time jobs as well. My neighbor owns a restaurant called Woodland Creek Supper Club in New Prospect, WI where I work weekends, and weekdays I do landscaping with another neighbor. The landscaping has been steady, but the restaurant just switched from only takeout to doing both takeout and limited seating dine-in, which has gotten more business. My neighbor, the owner and head chef did an interview on a small news outlet and radio talking about his and others losses the recent shutdown of businesses caused.
here is the interview video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Irf8fmcO4Zo

Thanks Bob. Amen.

Tyler, what is your read on the demand for sit down restaraunt service. Is there very little or are there a lot of customers wanting to get in that canā€™t?

today my oxygen is back down lower than yesterday (92), but I actually feel a little better. at least for the morning. fever is gone for now

The first day of opening there was a good amount of people that wanted to come in, with the limited seating, when the limit is met we cannot let them in, but for the most part and as far as i know we havenā€™t had to do that much. I forgot to mention that the dine-in is also by reservation only for now, so if they called in a reservation earlier it was planned out so that the seating was never over the limit.

I chuckle every time I see this Jeep at work. Wonder what heā€™s compensating for?

I am thinking about buying a portable generator.Need a5000 with electric start but don;t know what kind are good and what kind are not.The guys on D.O.

Drat I must have hit the wrong thing .any way the guys on dow seem to know a lot about this stuff any comments you guys make will be appreciated

Well I can tell you donā€™t get a generac I have one of those and when it broke I found out the circuit boards are worth more than the machine and known to be a problem.
The more I looked into it the more people told me oh ya those are no good.
I donā€™t know who makes a good unit I decided to hunt for a pto generator for my tractors.

thanks Larry. I donā€™t like generac either. way too complicated. although, that is what Jakob just puton wood. donā€™t know about the sizing, but I have had a little Honda 2000 for a long time. Incredibly useful and durable. Also have had pretty good time with the cheap harbor freight predators.

Andy, I chuckle because thereā€™s only one of them. not exactly what Iā€™d want to advertiseā€¦

I have a Champion that I bought and found wasnā€™t working. I found the armature had a broken wire in it. I tried to solder a repair and found out that the wire was copper plated aluminum. I definitely would not buy another one.
I have a Homelite 5000 watt that I liked - other than it was a heavy bugger. I got it from
guy at Mike Anthonyā€™s wood gas event for $35. The voltage regulator circuit broke 2 years ago. The darn board costs $150 or more. Iā€™ll watch for another one with a junk carb or such for parts.
I have an old Mighty-Lite 1000 watt. I replaced the original worn out 3hp motor with a 3.5 hp which allowed it to make 1200 watt. That genny has been great. It has a revolving permanent magnet armature. It has broken a coil winding a couple times.
Just got my old shop back under power for the first time since the plant burned down. I found a Onan 35g (35kw) for sale at $450. I went to look at it. 271 actual hours. It came out of a Walmart. Looked like new. These are not popular as they run 3600 rpm and do not have an idle control. The poor 4 cyl Chrysler motor starts at wide open throttle.
The lady lowered her price without my even asking. She just said I was a nice guy and needed it more than she did. $375 and it included the transfer switch, exhaust piping and muffler. I could have hugged her.
I bought an old Tillotson UR1A carburetor on ebay and it bolted right on in place of the natural gas carb and the air cleaner fit perfectly. Only issue is I cant find a proper float valve for the old carburetor. I reworked one I got in a $50 kit at Tractor Supply and made it work.
I start it holding the throttle closed so it can build oil pressure before allowing it to rev up. I run the motor as slow as possible as that poor thing sounds like itā€™s being abused. It is still putting out 50 hz and 420v.
I came across a military MEP531A diesel 2Kw 120v generator a month ago. Been sitting but only $150. I drove 140 miles to Detroit to get it. Itā€™s taken some work to clean out the fuel system but it works ok. No 220v but most commonly needed is simply 110v anyway. The fuel savings for simply having lights on is nice.
If I was to buy new - Iā€™d be inclined to buy an inverter. Either HF or preferably a Honda. The Hondaā€™s are so quiet. Youā€™d think a guy with poor hearing wouldnā€™t care but I do not like listening to generators running.

The one thing I would add is watch out for anything with an Onan gas engine the parts for those old 16 and 18 hp motors are almost as expensive as John Deere parts.
