Everything was kind of hectic when Jacob was here and I forgot to get any pics. I feel bad about that. Oh well. Chit happens.
Yeah I forgot as well.
We are south of Indianapolis. Headed south. Traffic was really bad but we made it. I broke my record on the longest time before refueling. 58 miles. Nothing exciting just driving along at 65 mph.
Hey Jakob .
The stretch between Argos and Indianapolis using Ron Lemlers wood is the best mileage I have ever got also .
This one was coming through Indianapolis the traffic was bad no place to pull off. I kept watching the temp and it made it.
We are now at the South of Louisville at the rest stop welcome center. Just took a short nap about to get back on the road.
Talked to Jakob, they are about to Nashville, TN.
According to Jakob, the truck is running like a barn-soured horse. It must know where it is.
They are either trying to make it to the rest area with the Apollo Space Rocket,
or possibly push on through to Wayne’s place in Springville to sleep on his porch, and be there for breakfast.
I guess it depends on how late Naomi can drive.
We should have plenty of sleeping room on the inside and plenty of grits, tomato gravy and biscuits for breakfast .
Wayne you sure know how to treat a guest! Some people might drive cross country for a breakfast like that!
I didn’t mention we will get a hog and chickens involved also at breakfast .
We decided to push on to Wayne’s. We just got here. More after some sleep
You better rest up at Wayne’s for a day as it sounds like your dad has LOTS OF WORK waiting for you.
Phew! Congratulations Jakob. You made it
Anyone dreaming of a comfortable coast to coast vacation in a motorhome on wood should read up on this thread
The chickens make a donation the hog is all in.
Everything functioned very well yesterday. I kept it at 65-70 mph most of the trip. With Ron’s oak I was getting 40-45 miles between most fuel ups. I also found I didn’t make much difference if I ran it down or not it always seemed to run about the same.
I am really enjoying normal humid weather again.
It is amazing how we get used to things. I am enjoying the cool dry fall weather again!
We won’t work him too hard. Saturday for sure around here is just rest day. Today more going on because everyone is excited to see them home.
We were planning a big rescue squad training for tomorrow, but it got cancelled because of expected storms. Kind of hard to train how to run underwater robots and aerial drones in hail and lightening.
Monday he’ll have to light up and go meet the newspaper man.
So he’ll get some rest…But it won’t take but a day or two and he’ll be unable to rest. He’ll be DOING again soon enough. Naomi on the other hand might just sleep for a week.
Jakob just called and said they are on the last leg. In Odenville, AL headed home. Just a couple more fuel ups.
Maybe Wayne will post some pics.
